I loved how this book gave me all the feelings. It feels far more realistic than other books that deal with similar matters, mostly because of the way that Hamilton is portrayed. He’s an awful person, and the authors aren’t making up excuses for him. All it takes is one slip, one heated argument, one mistake, and everything gets even more complicated. Let me ask you something, if you spent a weekend with a guy, had slow nice sex, wouldn’t it bother you not knowing if he’s doing that with his gf at the time?

The good thing is that she has always been a rabid consumer of fanfiction, TV, movie, books, and games and has millions of characters living inside her head. Grant spends days in an expensive tie and suit, and funding charitable works for his family’s foundation. Nights are reserved for patrolling the tiny city of Asheville and the nearby mountainside in an effort to keep the residents safe from rogue vampires. Why? She had agreed to the contract to protect herself but now needs to do whatever is asked of her including being punished when she disobeys, to be in their beds and on her knees on command. But that's not exactly true, is it? I still get punished, each and every day that I walk down the halls. No one speaks to me. No one looks at me. No one even admits I exist.He really was an ASSHOLE but Gwen does show him that everything he thought, was wrong. This image thing he wants to live up to is BS. He becomes a better person but BEAR WITH ME, it takes time. Somehow, as the book progressed, I started hating Hamilton less. He has some redeeming features. He might actually not be an inherently evil person. He might not be completely incapable of redemption. He might be worthy of love. Her works are known for their sexy, angsty situations and heroes who make for some very intriguing series. I want to clarify, although she’s his “gf”, he doesn’t really refer to her as such and in fact I saw another review which describes her as his “beard” to show his perfect life and that’s it. They don’t spend time together, she’s more his gf by name and what people think. So it was just disappointing that Gwen didn’t seem to question his relationship after the 10th time they hooked up or so.

The book keeps you on the edge of your seat while you wonder what each of the characters is doing and what part they are going to do in the battle that is coming up. Typically, she can be found reading, plotting her escape from the zombie apocalypse, writing, and just trying to get the glitter out from underneath her nails. Rath, Tristan, and Killian are three men that are part of her past which she would rather leave behind her. But Tristian, Rath, and Killian are not the only ones who want her as he is being stalked by someone very dangerous ever since she left town.Apart from her writing, Samantha loves to call herself a professional graphic designer who spends her day running a media design and book cover company by day while penning stories about tragic assholes during the night. A brilliant aspect of this book is the development of their relationship, how it went from hate, to friends, to lovers. Another is Hamilton’s character growth. I believed in Hamilton’s redemption, 100%. The dude changes before our eyes. But the Reagan situation annoyed me. Good news ? Hamilton never sleeps with her. In fact, he’s so caught up in Gwen he’s not even INTERESTED in sleeping with her. But she is his “gf” or whatever and in the beginning, he uses her to keep Gwen thinking that what they have isn’t special. This book was wonderful. Our main characters are fascinating individuals that are flawed, which is so refreshing; their flaws make them more real. The book was the perfect length, not so short that you feel cheated, but not so long to where you get bored. I couldn’t guess what was going to happen next, and that’s one thing I love about these two authors, I can NEVER guess what’s going to happen in their stories and I love it! The OW drama. Hero was "dating" a girl (who was more likely chasing the Hero for any kind of attention he was willing to give) up until 75% of the book. Reader knows that he wasn't sleeping with the GF, but the heroine doesn't know that for sure...

This is a wonderful story that is filled with some characters sure to warm your heart. Right from the start, readers found they were rooting for Amelia and Grant to end up together. The book has a bit of everything: romance, humor, and action. The author now has more than a dozen novels to her name and has shown no signs of slowing down any time soon.
